The Votiva Experience.

Votiva is not just for older women! Any woman with vaginal dryness, pain with intercourse, stress urinary incontinence, vaginal laxity, or lichen sclerosis will benefit. Votiva uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate thermal remodeling, which results in new collagen and elastin formation, making the tissue more supple and elastic. This allows the tissue to expand and retract without tearing.

Forma V is applied internally for about 10 minutes and externally to the labia, perineum, urethra and clitoral area for about 10 minutes. If you have any pesky hemorrhoids, we can spend some time in this area to shrink those, too!

Our Votiva patients have improvement in lubrication, decreased pain and vaginal discomfort even after the first treatment. It also will start to help bladder control and mild stress urinary incontinence from the first treatment, but for full effect three treatments are necessary.

There is no downtime for normal activity. I went on a three-hour biking tour right after mine! However, we do recommend no tub bath, sex, or swimming for two to three days after the treatment. Best of all, there is minimal to no discomfort from the procedure. The Forma V wand is smaller than a routine ultrasound probe. Patients feel gentle warmth but nothing painful or too hot during the procedure.

Votiva patients are the happiest patients in our Gynecology practice! Often they have not been able to have sex for years, or have gritted due to pain and gotten through it. We can combine the treatment with testosterone pellets as well so you will not only be able to have sex again, but actually WANT it, too!

What is Votiva?

Important Votiva questions...

How does Votiva work?

Votiva is a procedure for women’s health and wellness, combining gentle volumetric heating with fractional treatment. Votiva with FormaV is a therapeutic device for the treatment of sexual dysfunction or as an adjunct to Kegel exercises (tightening of the muscles of the pelvic floor to increase muscle tone).

Votiva with FractoraV, is a fractional treatment promoting tissue remodeling. Votiva technology makes it possible for patients to experience both internal and external feminine rejuvenation. The dual approach helps address tightness, lubrication, and even SUI symptoms while addressing the appearance of the labia for an improved aesthetic. This option is a great option for vaginal rejuvenation.

How does Votiva work?

Votiva uses up to two complimentary technologies to address your health and wellness concerns. Votiva with the FormaV handpiece, gently and uniformly heats the treated tissue, reducing pain and tightening the pelvic, floor muscles.

Votiva with the FractoraV handpiece is a fractional treatment that remodels tissue. Additionally, the radiofrequency triggers a tightening effect within the dermis, which shrinks and improves the appearance of loose or excess labia skin.

During a treatment, a small wand is applied to the problem area, and delivers safe and effective heat.

Results are almost immediate; however, final results are usually visible within the first week or two after the procedure. Most patients will require 3 treatments for optimal results.

You’re Not Alone – The Statistics of Urinary Incontinence

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI), the most prevalent form of incontinence among women, affects an estimated 15 million adult women in the U.S.

29% of individuals ages 60-70 experience leakage when coughing, sneezing, or laughing compared to 17% of men and women ages 30-39. A portion of these individuals also experience urge incontinence.

Approximately, 1 out of 3 women over the age of 45, and 1 out of every 2 women over 65 have stress urinary incontinence.

In 2010, 211,000 women had some type of surgery for stress urinary incontinence.
